Marden’s is a family owned business that values community.
Our roots are here in Maine and we participate in both community events and charitable giving as a company and as individuals. Below is a brief list of some of the things Marden’s participates in or contributes to. If you are aware of other events or programs that we might like to be involved in, please contact us.
Project Linus is a national organization with a strong base of support in Maine. Consisting of seven Maine chapters and over 400 nationally, Project Linus’ goal is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly made by volunteer “blanketeers”.
Each year Marden’s collects quilts, blankets and donations, culminating in a one day event in which the blankets are donated and the program highlighted at locations throughout the State. In just four years, Marden’s has donated over 7,000 quilts, more than 3,000 of those just in 2008.

The United Way Of Eastern Maine is an organization that helps people in five counties care for one another. Through contributions from throughout Maine, The United Way Of Eastern Maine assists 43 health and human services agencies to serve more than 45,000 people in Eastern Maine each year. Marden’s employees donate annually through an employer based program which is strongly encouraged and matched by Marden’s.

In the spirit of Mickey Marden, Marden’s funds scholarships for incoming and continuing students at K.V.C.C. The Mickey Marden Scholarship For Incoming Students is awarded in amounts from $250-$1000 and there is also a Mickey Marden Memorial Scholarship for continuing students. Because of the spirit of giving fostered by Marden’s and it’s employees, employees participate in various charitable and community based projects and events throughout the year independently. Some of these include Make-A-Wish Foundation Events, Toys For Tots, The American Heart Association and many others.
