To Marden’s fabric is not just material. Fabric represents friendship, community and a way of life. From our fabric buyer and distribution employees right through to the associates in store that help customers one on one, hundreds of times a day, we love fabric!
How do we keep our fabric departments so well stocked with quality material at such low prices?
We acquire our stock from a variety of sources, ranging from direct manufacturer purchases of limited supply material, to store liquidations, closeouts and more. Because of our disciplined buying practices and our knowledge that a Marden’s customer is always looking for a good deal, we only buy what we know we can save you money on. The end result? Carts full of material at prices you won’t find anywhere else!
We routinely hear our regular fabric customers exclaiming that a certain pattern has inspired them to start a new project, or that they have been searching high and low for just “this or that”. With our unbelievably low prices, our fabric customers often come in looking for one specific item, and leave with a whole cart full of new material at much less than they would dare to dream of!
In the near future, we plan to raise the level of activity and community in our fabric departments by doing demonstrations and workshops, holding events, and getting to know our customers even better.
Already, we are involved with Project Linus, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing warmth, comfort and love to children who have been traumatized or are in need. Project Linus donates hand-made quilts and afghans to these children, and in Maine, Marden’s is proud to be leading the charge.
Last year, the Marden’s Project Linus drive collected over 3500 handmade quilts for children in need from volunteer “blanketeers” all around the state. We look forward to this year’s effort, and would love to have you join us!
